In the main card of the UFC fight night, Tony Ferguson will face off Justin Gaethje for the interim title in the lightweight division.
Former lightweight champion Ferguson has a chance to win the title for the second time on May 9 at pay-per-view bout in VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville.
Originally, he was supposed to fight with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in April. Ferguson had to change his opponent since Nurmagomedov is unable to travel as a result of coronavirus pandemic. This was the fifth failed attempt at organizing their matchup.
Justin Gaethje stepped up to fight with one of the most dangerous lightweights in history without hesitation. Extremely self-confident, Gaethje is already talking about a meeting with Nurmagomedov.
The winner of this uncompromising Ferguson-Gaethje pair will fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fall.
